Two New Albums

Hey, everyone! Today is Monday, and I'm here to post my very first real blog post. My previous post was just a brief introduction to familiarize you all with how I'm going to be blogging! Today I'm going to be talking about the achievments of two amazing bands that I've loved for a very long time: Panic! At The Disco and Yellowcard. Let's get right into the blogging! I'm going to start off by telling you the song of the day, why I chose it as the song of the day, and a little bit of background behind the song. The song of the day is I Feel Like Dancin' by All Time Low. If you didn't already know, All Time Low is my absolute favorite band and I love their music very much, so that is one of the reasons why I've chosen this song as my song of the day today. This song was released on iTunes on April 5, 2011 and it will be on their upcoming album, Dirty Work. The song's lyrics are making fun of what the mainstream music scene has become. Since this song is new, posting on my blog about it would be the least I could do to help the band and that is another reason I have chosen this song as the song of the day. The main reason this song was chosen, though, is just because I love the song. It's an upbeat dance song and it's very catchy. It has a pop-punk feel with a little bit of rock in it, and it's very different from other All Time Low songs. I suggest you go listen to it and download it on iTunes, because it's a great song! Now comes your random fact about music.. This is a pretty interesting fact, actually. I just discovered this a few days ago and I'm not sure if many others know this, as well. The guitarist of the band "City Comma State", Jordan McGraw, is actually Dr. Phil's son. I found this out via Twitter, actually. I was reading All Time Low's tweets and I came across a tweet by Dr. Phil about 'I Feel Like Dancin''. I did more research on it, and I realized that the members of City Comma State and the members of All Time Low are close friends, therefore Dr. Phil knows the All Time Low boys through Jordan. That is the random music fact of the day! Now comes the music update. On March 22, 2011, two great bands that I already mentioned released new albums. I'll start out with talking about Yellowcard's new album and later, I will talk about Panic! At The Disco's new album. Yellowcard came out with their new album "When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes" in late March after a two-year hiatus. This was Yellowcard's seventh stuido album and it was under Hopeless Records. The album consists of 10 songs, and my personal favorite was Track 10 and it was titled "Be The Young". They performed many of the songs from the album on the Dirty Work tour that they co-headlined with All Time Low, Hey Monday, and The Summer Set. Panic! At The Disco also came out with their new album, "Vices & Virtues" on March 22, 2011, the same day as Yellowcard released their new album. The album was Panic! At The Disco's third studio album and it was produced with Fueled By Ramen. The album had a unique sound, almost like a combination of "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" and "Pretty. Odd.", which are their previous albums. The album also has 10 tracks, and my personal favorite was Track 1 and it was titled "The Ballad of Mona Lisa". This song was released as a single before the album was released, and I loved it from the second I heard it. It's upbeat with a twist of what you heard in "Pretty. Odd.", as I said earlier. Both of them are absolutely wonderful albums and I suggest you buy them in stores, download them on iTunes, and go check them out! Now, we're going to get completely off the topic of music and switch to the topic of my life. Today was my first day at school back from Spring Break. During Spring Break, I was mostly lazy, but I started off my Spring Break by going to see a concert for the Dirty Work Tour, which I've mentioned throughout this post. The details of the concert will be posted sometime during this week, but it was a great show and their performance was excellent. I promise that details will be shared later this week, as I said earlier. Of course, I'm upset that Spring Break is over, but I was happy to see my friends at school again. It was an overall fun day, for school, at least. We followed our normal schedule, so that was pretty average. When I got home from school, though, there was some drama with my friends. One of my best guy friends asked me out and one of my closest girl friends was upset about a guy that she liked. If you are wondering, my best friend and I are not dating and decided to stay as just friends. Another important thing that occurred today was that I finally finished writing the lyrics and music on acoustic guitar to a song I've been working on for over a year. A year sounds like a ridiculous ammount of time to write a song, but I've changed it many times and worked very hard on it. So, yeah, it's finally finished, so I've been physched about that! That's all I have to say today! On Wednesday, you can expect some information about Dirty Work and a lot of information about the concert that I went to! I hope you all enjoyed my first official blog post. Thanks so much for reading, and I hope everyone who read this post will check back sometime during this week to see my posts on Wednesday and Friday! I promise they will be there. :) Thanks again for reading, and everybody have a great week! SOURCES: Wikipedia, Twitter.
