Dirty Work Tour

Hey, everyone! Today is April 13, 2011 and it is a Wednesday. I'm here to tell you about a concert that I've been talking about during my previous posts. As you all should know, All Time Low and a couple other great bands went on tour. The tour is called The Dirty Work Tour and I was lucky enough to get tickets to their performance on April 2, 2011! Read further to hear the details. I'll start out this blog post by telling you all the song of the day! The song of the day today is 'What You're Thinkin'' by Transmit Now. Transmit Now is a new band that I heard for the first time at the Dirty Work concert, actually. I'll tell you more about them when I tell you all about the concert in the music update. This song is my favorite on their album and the first song I've ever heard written by them. Go check it out, tell your friends about them, download that song and other songs by their band on iTunes, like them on Facebook, and help them out since they're a new band! They are amazing, I promise! Now, it's time for the random music fact of the day. Today's random music fact is about Cristofer Drew from NeverShoutNever. Chris rarely showers and picks out one outfit to wear for a month. That fact was pretty gross, but at least it was interesting! Anyway, that was the random fact of the day. Next is the most important part of this blog post... The music update! As I said earlier, today's music update is all about The Dirty Work Tour concert that I went to. The first thing that happened, obviously, was standing in line. Usually that's boring, but while I was in line for this particular concert, I met a band that I actually talked about earlier in this post. I met Transmit Now. I had never heard of their music, but their merch girl let me listen to 'What You're Thinkin'' on her iPod. After I listened to that song, I knew I had to buy their new album. This amazing album is titled 'Downtown Merry-Go-Round' and I suggest you go buy it in stores, download it on iTunes, and check it out! I did end up buying it, and I'm glad I did.. They are so talented! After waiting in line for a while, the doors finally opened. We headed to the stage and watched as they set up. Finally, The Summer Set came on stage and performed. They were really fun to watch! They played about 6 songs, most of which were from their album 'Love Like This' that was released in 2009. They did play a new song, though, and it was called 'Someone Like You'. After they played their songs, they talked about their new album that will be coming out this summer and it will be titled 'Everything's Fine'. They played songs like 'Young', 'Chelsea', 'The Boys You Do', 'Punch-Drunk Love', and more. Then, Hey Monday performed. They also played about 6 songs, some of them from their recent EP, 'Beneath It All', but they performed songs from older albums, too. They are currently working on a new album, too, just like The Summer Set, but they haven't announced any names yet. They played songs like 'Candles', 'I Don't Wanna Dance', 'How You Love Me Now', 'Wondergirl', and more. After Hey Monday, Yellowcard played. Since they were co-headlining the tour with All Time Low, they played about 10 song. Some of the songs were from their new album that I talked about in my last post, 'When You're Through Thinking Say Yes', and some songs were from their older albums. They played songs like 'Breathing', 'Light Up The Sky', 'The Sound Of You And Me', 'Ocean Avenue', and more. Finally, All Time Low performed. They played about 17 songs. Most of the songs were from old albums, and only two were from their soon-to-be new album, 'Dirty Work'. The songs that will be on 'Dirty Work' were 'Time-Bomb' and 'Paper Moon'. They were both amazing songs. 'Time-Bomb' has already been recorded and released, but 'Paper Moon' has not. It used to be called 'Under A Paper Moon', but they changed the name. Their performance was fascinating and I enjoyed it a lot. You could see Jeffree Star on the side of the stage, too, which made me go crazy since I'm a huge Jeffree Star fan. While All Time Low was playing their last song, we headed to the merch stand in the back. We met Vinny Vegas, All Time Low's merch guy, and I bought a T-shirt. He was too busy to take pictures, but meeting him was fun. When we were leaving, we walked out behind Jeffree Star. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was him until he started to turn into the VIP section. That was totally random, but it was special to me! The concert was overall really fun and all the bands did great! I'll definitely be seeing All Time Low in concert next time they come to where I live. Lastly is my personal update. I've been busy with school and boring stuff like that lately, but I've had enough time for fun stuff, too. I've been having a lot of fun with my friends trying to avoid drama, fights, and sadness for the last semester of this school year. So far, it's been working and I've been having so much fun. My grades have been higher recently, too, so I've been focused a lot more during school... But that doesn't mean I'm fully focused, don't worry, I haven't completely changed. Along with my social life and my school life, my music has been doing great. On Monday, I finished a song I've been writing for a long time. I've been mastering it on acoustic guitar and I've even started to record some of it on my computer. I'm having problems with sound, but so far, it's been going pretty well! When I finish recording, I'll probably start on my next song! I have a lot of random verses in my song book, so my next song will probably be editing and fitting together random verses. But mostly, just being organized is what I'm focusing on and hopefully songwriting will go faster that way! That's basically all that's been going on since I've lasted posted. Prepare yourselves for this Friday, 'cause Friday is breakup day! I'm talking about all the bands that have been breaking up recently, and trust me, there's quite a few! I decided to mix things up since most of my music updates have been happy. Please comment your ideas for next week! You can suggest topics for my music updates, suggest random music facts, suggest songs of the day, or you can just give me suggestions on how to improve my blog entirely! Please comment, tell your friends, and follow this blog! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you take the time to check back sometime soon to see my post on Friday, 'cause it's gonna be interesting! Thanks again for reading. SOURCES: Answers.com, Yahoo! Two New Albums

Hey, everyone! Today is Monday, and I'm here to post my very first real blog post. My previous post was just a brief introduction to familiarize you all with how I'm going to be blogging! Today I'm going to be talking about the achievments of two amazing bands that I've loved for a very long time: Panic! At The Disco and Yellowcard. Let's get right into the blogging! I'm going to start off by telling you the song of the day, why I chose it as the song of the day, and a little bit of background behind the song. The song of the day is I Feel Like Dancin' by All Time Low. If you didn't already know, All Time Low is my absolute favorite band and I love their music very much, so that is one of the reasons why I've chosen this song as my song of the day today. This song was released on iTunes on April 5, 2011 and it will be on their upcoming album, Dirty Work. The song's lyrics are making fun of what the mainstream music scene has become. Since this song is new, posting on my blog about it would be the least I could do to help the band and that is another reason I have chosen this song as the song of the day. The main reason this song was chosen, though, is just because I love the song. It's an upbeat dance song and it's very catchy. It has a pop-punk feel with a little bit of rock in it, and it's very different from other All Time Low songs. I suggest you go listen to it and download it on iTunes, because it's a great song! Now comes your random fact about music.. This is a pretty interesting fact, actually. I just discovered this a few days ago and I'm not sure if many others know this, as well. The guitarist of the band "City Comma State", Jordan McGraw, is actually Dr. Phil's son. I found this out via Twitter, actually. I was reading All Time Low's tweets and I came across a tweet by Dr. Phil about 'I Feel Like Dancin''. I did more research on it, and I realized that the members of City Comma State and the members of All Time Low are close friends, therefore Dr. Phil knows the All Time Low boys through Jordan. That is the random music fact of the day! Now comes the music update. On March 22, 2011, two great bands that I already mentioned released new albums. I'll start out with talking about Yellowcard's new album and later, I will talk about Panic! At The Disco's new album. Yellowcard came out with their new album "When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes" in late March after a two-year hiatus. This was Yellowcard's seventh stuido album and it was under Hopeless Records. The album consists of 10 songs, and my personal favorite was Track 10 and it was titled "Be The Young". They performed many of the songs from the album on the Dirty Work tour that they co-headlined with All Time Low, Hey Monday, and The Summer Set. Panic! At The Disco also came out with their new album, "Vices & Virtues" on March 22, 2011, the same day as Yellowcard released their new album. The album was Panic! At The Disco's third studio album and it was produced with Fueled By Ramen. The album had a unique sound, almost like a combination of "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" and "Pretty. Odd.", which are their previous albums. The album also has 10 tracks, and my personal favorite was Track 1 and it was titled "The Ballad of Mona Lisa". This song was released as a single before the album was released, and I loved it from the second I heard it. It's upbeat with a twist of what you heard in "Pretty. Odd.", as I said earlier. Both of them are absolutely wonderful albums and I suggest you buy them in stores, download them on iTunes, and go check them out! Now, we're going to get completely off the topic of music and switch to the topic of my life. Today was my first day at school back from Spring Break. During Spring Break, I was mostly lazy, but I started off my Spring Break by going to see a concert for the Dirty Work Tour, which I've mentioned throughout this post. The details of the concert will be posted sometime during this week, but it was a great show and their performance was excellent. I promise that details will be shared later this week, as I said earlier. Of course, I'm upset that Spring Break is over, but I was happy to see my friends at school again. It was an overall fun day, for school, at least. We followed our normal schedule, so that was pretty average. When I got home from school, though, there was some drama with my friends. One of my best guy friends asked me out and one of my closest girl friends was upset about a guy that she liked. If you are wondering, my best friend and I are not dating and decided to stay as just friends. Another important thing that occurred today was that I finally finished writing the lyrics and music on acoustic guitar to a song I've been working on for over a year. A year sounds like a ridiculous ammount of time to write a song, but I've changed it many times and worked very hard on it. So, yeah, it's finally finished, so I've been physched about that! That's all I have to say today! On Wednesday, you can expect some information about Dirty Work and a lot of information about the concert that I went to! I hope you all enjoyed my first official blog post. Thanks so much for reading, and I hope everyone who read this post will check back sometime during this week to see my posts on Wednesday and Friday! I promise they will be there. :) Thanks again for reading, and everybody have a great week! SOURCES: Wikipedia, Twitter.

Introduction

Hi, everyone! Since this is my first post, it's basically going to be an introduction. I'll just be telling you my posting schedule and the format that my posts will be set up in! First off, I will usually just introduce what I'll be talking about for the rest of the post and anything I need to say before I get started. Second, I will always have a song of the day. The purpose of that is to spread the word about the music I listen to and it can give my readers a suggestion of songs to listen to! Next, is a completely random fact about music. It will usually be a fact about one of the members of a band I listen to, or something like that. There really is no purpose of this! It's just for fun. :) The next part is the basic part of the blog post. It's a music update. I will give you updates about new CDs that are coming out/recently came out, updates about tour dates, updates about new releases, and everything you need to know in the world of pop-punk music. Leave a comment and tell me something you want me to write about, because it can be hard to find a topic to write about for every single post. After that, I'll give you a personal update. I'll tell you what has currently been going on in my life. The purpose is to make the blog more personal, since the rest of the blog will mainly be about music. It will let you get to know me better through updates on my life. Last is a sneak peak of what's coming in the next post. I plan out all my blog posts for the rest of the week every Monday, so I have most of the topics prepared. I'll give you a little preview about the next topic so you can get the basic idea of what to expect. Now, I will be posting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of every single week unless something unexpected or out of the ordinary happens that prevents me from blogging. Other than that, on a normal schedule, I will be posting three times a week! That is it for the introduction! I will be posting a real blog post shortly after this, using the format I just explained! Be expecting that very soon, and thanks so much for reading. Be sure to comment your ideas and suggestions and follow me! Thanks again.
